Nikki + Sean

Before I left for my wedding on Saturday, my brother asked, “whose wedding today?” I responded that it was no one he knew and that I was actually meeting the couple for the first time on the day they tied the knot. Now, ideally, this wouldn’t be the case. I like to get to know my couples and make them feel comfortable with me before I stick my camera in their face. However, Saturday was different. Different in the best way possible. I had actually met the bride’s sister’s family for a newborn session a few months ago and recently met up with another friend for a family session just outside of Boston.

Even though I hadn’t met Nikki personally, I knew between the amazing people in her life and stalking her on Instagram (yep, I’ll admit it!), I had a strong feeling we’d be a good fit for each other. Sean and I quickly bonded over a love for hockey, and Nikki is a special education teacher, aka a saint. These two have been together forever, and I’m truly grateful they chose me to document their wedding day. Granted I’ve only had a brief glimpse into their love story, but they are the definition of soulmates. I wish them nothing but the best in this next season of life!

Side note: If you’ve never been to Basin Harbor in Vergennes, Vermont, do yourself a favor and plan a trip. It’s like summer camp for adults and kids alike. The views are picturesque, and it’s the perfect escape from the everyday grind.

Here’s a glimpse at their incredible day this past weekend…
