A Perfect Summer Proposal in the Boston Public Garden | Mallory + Troy

Some evenings feel like they’re made for love stories—and last Friday, was exactly that. With golden summer light, a warm breeze, and the charm of the Boston Public Garden in full bloom, the stage was perfectly set for Troy’s surprise proposal to Mallory.

Though Mallory suspected something might happen during their upcoming Fourth of July in Vermont, Troy threw her off by popping the question a week early, right in the heart of their neighborhood. He got down on one knee—and her reaction was pure joy.

Afterward, we wandered through the elegant streets of Back Bay. The brownstones and soft evening light made for a dreamy backdrop, but what stood out most was Mallory and Troy’s laughter and connection—easy, genuine, and full of life.

A fellow photographer once told me, “Your clients always look like they’re having a great time in your images.” That meant so much, because that’s exactly what I strive for—capturing people as their authentic, joyful selves. As I photographed Mallory and Troy, I felt that energy come through lens—two people fully present, totally in love, and having the best time.

Congratulations, Mallory and Troy—Boston suits your love story beautifully.
