Some wedding days just feel different—and Shannon and Starrett’s was one of those. It was a perfect summer day at Basin Harbor: warm sun, a gentle breeze off Lake Champlain, and a whole lot of joy in the air. But more than that, it was a day that revolved entirely around what matters most—their love story.
I always tell my couples that the photos should be about the wedding day; the wedding day shouldn’t be about the photos. Shannon and Starrett fully embraced that idea. Their celebration was never about staging moments—it was about living them. From start to finish, their families and friends were completely present, soaking up every laugh, every tear, every toast. It was the kind of day where you could feel the connection in the air.
Basin Harbor was the most incredible backdrop for it all. I absolutely love shooting there—it’s one of those rare venues that feels expansive and intimate at the same time. Whether it was portraits along the waterfront, stolen glances under the trees, or the golden-hour magic out on the dock, the setting just added to the natural beauty and relaxed joy of the entire day.
From the heartfelt ceremony to the wild dance floor energy later that night, Shannon and Starrett’s wedding was a celebration of true love, deep-rooted friendships, and family bonds that clearly run strong. It was a privilege to document every piece of it.
