Senior Portraits

April 15, 2020

It’s the perfect time of year to start planning your senior portraits!

From the initial inquiry through the delivery of an edited online gallery, my goal is to make your senior portrait session stress-free. We’ll work together to find the best natural light, create a cohesive look through your outfit and location choices, and I’ll give you a few posing tips, especially if you aren’t sure what to do with your hands! I focus on capturing images that make you feel like you and document this pivotal year of your life. And, don’t worry, I’m not about the cheesy poses. I’ll never ask you to lean against a tree trunk or lay on your stomach with your face resting in the palms of your hands. Together, we’ll create images that you’ll be sending to your friends as soon as your edited gallery lands in your inbox.

I encourage you to reach out as soon as you’re considering a portrait session. My calendar books up quickly, especially during the busy summer and fall seasons. Shoot me an email, hello@ellensargentphotography.com, and we can chat about the possibility of working together!

Some of my favorite places to snap portraits:

  • Oakledge Park – BTV
  • Waterfront Park – BTV
  • Kamp Kill Kare – St. A
  • Shelburne Farms – Shelburne, VT
  • Fan Pier Park – BOS
  • Navy Yard – Charlestown
  • City Square Park – Charlestown

BEHIND THE LENS

MEET ELLEN

I grew up in Vermont and now call Boston home, but I'll always feel most like myself outdoors.

Whether I'm hiking, skiing, spending a long weekend along the shores of Lake Champlain, or returning to Maine with my family each summer, those are the places where I recharge. Before becoming a full-time photographer, I spent years teaching middle school. Looking back, I think that's where I learned the skill that matters most in this work: helping people feel comfortable enough to simply be themselves.

When I'm not photographing weddings, you'll find me planning my next trip to France, getting lost in a good book, cheering on the Boston Bruins, spending time with my family, or wishing I were finally in the right season of life to bring home a dog.
